Consolidated Glass Corporation is proud to announce the long awaited ground breaking of its new Glass Lamination Line. After months of tedious planning, we are extremely excited to see this new project become a reality. With the help of Giordano Construction, the over 15,000 sf building will be erected in the coming months, with the automated lamination line being installed and fully operational by Q1 of 2023. President & CEO Shane Merryman states, "Seeing this dream become a reality is a dream come true. This exciting addition to our operation will allow us to begin servicing new markets, while propelling Consolidated Glass Corporation forward into the next phase of our long term growth plan.” With this exciting endeavor underway, the new age of Consolidated Glass Corporation is here to stay. We want to especially thank each and every one of our team members for their concentrated efforts throughout this process. “New Castle, Pa., is home to Consolidated Glass Corporation, which in 2021 saw an 25% increase in its annual sales. The company has a three truck fleet headed east and west two to three times a week and has triumphed over recent transportation trials. There were times where we had trouble finding a truck if it wasn’t something we could deliver using our own fleet but it has since lightened up” says Howard Holesapple, Vice President of Sales. “We have our own fleet of trucks, but we can also ship all over the country directly to the job site or to the end user. “From New York to California, Maine to Florida or to the Islands of the pacific. With our dedicated drivers on board and the committed relationship with our shipping carriers, we have been able to combat the recent trials. Holesapple, a former Glazier by trade, used to work in the fabrication department cutting everything by hand. But times have changed with the implementation of new automatic fabrication lines. “In 2016 Louis Merryman had a dream to implement a Robotic line for polishing glass. It took a while for me to get on board. Automation is great, but it can’t replace an actual human. When we first put this equipment in, there was some push back. Some of our employees said it felt like they’re putting this robotic line in to replace us.’ When in fact, because we’ve put this new equipment in, it has increased our capacity to the point where we are constantly looking for help in the plant . Now with an automated robotics polishing line and an automated cutting line we have found the perfect balance of investing in our employees and increasing our production and quality.” -Chirs Collier

For a company to survive five generations of trials and tribulations, there had to be a secret that made it all happened. I started to look around and tried to see, what made us different? I saw a commitment that every employee has to each other, to the product and to the company. I saw managers that value everyone’s opinions, who are willing to step in and lend a hand vs watching from the sidelines and taking all the credit. I saw a President who is committed to investing in not only the business and but his employees, who makes sure everyone is heard. This culture that has been created here not only impacts the inner workings of the business but shines through to our customers as well.
